Whites Hill Bushcare

Help care for one of Brisbane’s important urban bushland reserves and the wildlife that calls it home.Whites Hill Bushcare brings together local volunteers to help protect and restore Whites Hill Reserve. The reserve supports a rich diversity of native plants and animals, including a significant urban koala population.Along with monthly Bushcare working bees, the group runs regular guided walks and community activities throughout the year.

Join the Bushcare Group

Bushcare working bees are held on the third Sunday of each month and run for two hours.
April to September: 8:00am–10:00am
October to March: 7:00am–9:00amThe group works throughout the year and new volunteers are always welcome.

Meeting locations vary depending on where work is being undertaken in the reserve. The two main meeting points are:The circular turnaround at the end of the carpark near the touch football fieldsThe Jones Road entrance to the reserve, opposite Kildare StreetDetails of each working bee, including the meeting point, are posted on the Whites Hill Reserve Facebook page approximately one week beforehand.

Guided Bushwalks

The group also runs two regular guided walks through Whites Hill Reserve.

Pat’s Walk – Second Sunday of each month
A relaxed two-hour walk starting from the main entrance to the children’s playground, followed by morning tea. April to September: 8:00am–10:00amOctober to March: 7:00am–9:00am

Peter’s Walk – Fourth Sunday of each month
A one-hour walk starting from the Jones Road entrance near Kildare Street.8:00am–9:00am throughout the yearBoth are easy, slow-paced walks with plenty of time to look for local plants and wildlife. Walks stay on graded paths, although some slopes and steps are encountered.
