Sewing at B4C

Stitching together creativity, community and conservation.

Sewing at B4C lovingly creates beautiful, practical items using repurposed, pre-loved, surplus or remnant textiles at the Bulimba Creek

Sustainability Centre in Carindale. A majority of the profits from these handmade pieces go directly to supporting the Bulimba Creek Environment Fund, helping to protect and restore our local environment.

We are currently looking for a few new volunteers to join our friendly sewing group. To take part, you will need to:

  • Have a working sewing machine that you can bring along

  • Have sewing skills slightly above basic straight-line sewing, such as simple clothing, patchwork or quilting

  • Be able to attend on Thursday mornings, even if it is not every week. Regular participation is important.

If you enjoy sewing, love giving textiles a second life, and would like to be part of a welcoming community group supporting local conservation, we would love to hear from you.
