Passerine Park Bushcare Group

Help restore Priest Gully and improve water quality and native habitat at Passerine Park in Rochedale South.

Passerine Park Bushcare is an informal community group focused on practical Bushcare, learning and enjoying time outdoors. The group usually has around 10 volunteers at each working bee, and people of all ages and abilities are welcome.

Priest Gully forms part of a drinking water catchment that flows into Tingalpa Reservoir. The group is currently working to improve water quality and biodiversity with support from Seqwater, Logan City Council and B4C.

When: Fourth Sunday of each month
Time: 8:00am–10:00amThe group does not usually meet in December or January, although occasional working bees may be arranged during this period.There is no need to attend every month – simply come along when you are available.

Meeting Point

Meet at Passerine Park, near the Priest Gully creek crossing on Underwood Road, Rochedale South.

Parking is available on Passerine Drive, with access to the site via the footbridge. The site is on the opposite side of Underwood Road from the Belmore Drive shops, behind the houses on Stellaris Way.

What Volunteers Do

The group is currently stabilising creek banks and restoring the area between the footpath and Priest Gully. Activities may include: removing weeds, planting native trees and other vegetation, spreading mulch, trimming dead vegetation, creek bank restoration and improving habitat and biodiversity

No previous Bushcare experience is required. Volunteers with existing skills, knowledge or ideas are also encouraged to share them.Working bees usually finish with morning tea and a chat.

New Volunteers Welcome

All ages and abilities are welcome, and volunteers can simply turn up on the day.
