Protecting Important Habitat
Bulimba Creek forms part of Queensland’s Koala Coast and flows into the Ramsar-listed Moreton Bay. Despite continued pressure from urban development and infrastructure, the catchment supports around 400 animal species and more than 1,000 plant species.
B4C has been working with volunteers, community groups, landholders and project partners since 1997 to protect and reconnect these habitats.
Supporting B4C’s Nature Refuges
The Environment Fund also helps B4C care for two significant conservation properties:
Mount Barney–Yamahra Creek Nature Refuge – 129 hectares
Adjoining Mount Barney National Park, this property protects eucalypt forest, native grasslands and habitat for species including Koalas and Glossy Black-Cockatoos.
Mount Elliot Nature Refuge – 80 hectares
Part of the Karawatha–Flinders Peak wildlife corridor, Mount Elliot provides habitat for Greater Gliders, Koalas, Brush-tailed Phascogales and the Critically Endangered Flinders Stink Bush (Zieria scopulus).
Donations help fund essential work including weed control, fire trail maintenance, habitat management and species conservation.
Every Donation Helps
Whether you give $10, $50, $100 or more, your contribution helps B4C continue practical environmental work where it is needed.
Donating is securely managed through GiveNow, and a tax receipt will be automatically emailed to you.
