Perrin Creek (Miawela St Park) Bushcare Group

Help restore native habitat along Perrin Creek at Miawela Street Park in Seven Hills.

The Perrin Creek (Miawela St Park) Bushcare Group is working to restore a small section of Perrin Creek that has changed significantly over time. Once an ephemeral string of waterholes, the creek became increasingly degraded as surrounding development occurred, eventually functioning more like an open drain.

When Bushcare work began, the site had very little native vegetation. Volunteers have since made considerable progress restoring the creek and rebuilding native habitat, although ongoing work is still needed.

Join the Bushcare Group

When: First Sunday and third Saturday of every month
Time: 7:30am–10:00am, followed by morning tea

New volunteers are welcome. Please contact the Bushcare Group before attending for the first time.

Meeting Point

Access by Foxton St, Seven Hills. Travel to the eastern end of Foxton St. Continue straight through the gate of the Parkwood townhouse complex, and proceed to the junction with Hillside Crescent. Turn left to cross the footbridge. The meeting point is the lone picnic table in the park.

What Volunteers Do

Activities vary depending on what is needed at the site and may include:

• Weed removal

• Mulching

• Planting native species

• General bushland and creek restoration

Some sections of the site are quite steep, but activities are available for volunteers with different abilities and experience levels.
