Sorry we’ve no paid positions available at present but all volunteers are always welcome to join us. Whether it’s pottering round the nursery or helping out with the field crew there is always something going on...
We have a few options for you to consider:
1. A weekday field crew of 2 supervisors, 2 trainees and volunteers go to various bushland and wetland sites within our catchment or nearby. They do site prep (mulching, weeding, hole digging), planting and maintenance (watering, weeding, spraying). They leave our office at 287 Pine Mountain Rd Mt Gravatt East at 7.15 am and return by 2.30 pm.
2. We have a community nursery at our office staffed by volunteers on Tues, Wed and Thurs from 8 am to 3 pm. They collect seed, sort and treat seed, lay seed into trays, pot on when seedlings are ready, water, weed, fertilise, etc.
3. There are weekend working bees most weekends at a number of bushcare sites. Most groups work for a 2 hr period once a month, planting and maintaining their site. We can give you contact numbers for the coordinators if you'd like to join in with one or many groups.
Please let us know which option/s suit you best. We can organise a time for you to come in and meet us and sort out times etc.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
