About Us

B4C is a non-profit community catchment group working to protect and bring back our natural environment in Bulimba Creek, one of the largest creek catchments in Brisbane.

We are run by volunteers and aim to create a web of green across the Bulimba Creek Catchment.

Bulimba Creek Coordinating Catchment Committee Inc. (B4C) is a community not-for-profit Landcare and catchment group in Brisbane, Queensland (Australia), working to protect and enhance the urban environment. B4C works voluntarily in the community to foster care for the environment and embracing sustainable living through active programs.”

B4C was started in 1997 by a small group of dedicated people who aim to protect the natural integrity of our urban environment and the complex web of life it supports. B4C is an incorporated catchment & landcare group working with all sectors of community. It focuses on protection of the environment through community action and education.

Our Vision
B4C's vision is to create a web of green across the catchment. B4C is promoting ecological sustainability and nature conservation and wise use of our natural resources. B4C seeks to engage people and build community capacity to become actively involved in restoring natural landscapes, habitat and nature conservation values though on ground opportunities, education and advocacy. We’re seeking a future for our wildlife, water and people.

Our MissionTo protect and enhance the health and natural processes of our waterwaysTo identify the threatening processes in our catchment and devise actions to reduce their impacts

Our AchievementsWe plant approximately 60,000 native seedlings per year of which about 60% are propagated in our nursery.We involve 5,300 people per year through our community open days, corporate tree planting days and environmental education programs. This equates to us engaging at least 1 in every 22 people who live in the catchment.We have created 362 ha of habitat for wildlifeWe have protected 462 ha of urban bushlandWe have committed over 300,000 volunteer hours
