Bulimba Creek Coordinating Catchment Committee Inc. (B4C) is a community not-for-profit Landcare and catchment group in Brisbane, Queensland (Australia), working to protect and enhance the urban environment. B4C works voluntarily in the community to foster care for the environment and embracing sustainable living through active programs.”

B4C was started in 1997 by a small group of dedicated people who aim to protect the natural integrity of our urban environment and the complex web of life it supports. B4C is an incorporated catchment & landcare group working with all sectors of community. It focuses on protection of the environment through community action and education.

Our Vision

B4C's vision is to create a web of green across the catchment. B4C is promoting ecological sustainability and nature conservation and wise use of our natural resources. B4C seeks to engage people and build community capacity to become actively involved in restoring natural landscapes, habitat and nature conservation values though on ground opportunities, education and advocacy. We’re seeking a future for our wildlife, water and people.

To protect and enhance the health and natural processes of our waterwaysTo identify the threatening processes in our catchment and devise actions to reduce their impacts

2006 Inaugural Healthy Waterways Champion – Wayne Cameron

2005/20042003 Healthy Waterways Award for best community group

2005 National Thiess Riverprize at the International Riversymposium




2004 Joint Grand Prize Winner for Habitat Connectivity, Protection

  & Enhancement throughout the Bulimba Creek Catchment

2004 Australia Day Award for Best Community Group – Mansfield electorate

2003 Healthy Waterways Community Award: Recognition of a major

  contribution to waterway health for the Bulimba Creek Oxbow

  rehabilitation project

2003 Qld Landcare Award “Rivercare” – Runner-up

2001 Qld Landcare Award Alcoa Community Group Award Winner

2001 SEQ Regional Award – Premier’s International Year of the

  Volunteer
